Details: The music of Sublunar Minds drips in rock and roll spontaneity, funk energy, and oozes
groove. The soulful trumpet and down-and-dirty harmonica combined with idiosyncratic lyrics and vocals suggest a world where an unholy inhuman hybrid of M Doughty, David Byrne, and Donald Fagen front a band whose members are moonlighting from regular duties alternatively backing Al Green and Bruce Springsteen.
Originally from Texas, singer Ben Cockerham spent years working the bar and roadhouse circuit, paying dues and honing sharp performance skills for any situation. After moving to New York, he connected with local East Village harmonica legend Frank Vigilante, local funk bass guru Damian Peters, and Italian-bred Sebastiano "Funk" Agostini, creating an intelligent, jazz influenced brand of funk rock.
